In recent times, the name of Recoaro Terme has been coming up more and more often, thanks in part to the €1 houses initiative, which has put the spotlight on this corner of the upper Agno Valley: dozens of abandoned properties in the town’s outlying districts are being offered at a symbolic price to anyone willing to renovate them. It’s the kind of initiative that many Italian villages bring back from time to time, so don’t be surprised if the scheme returns here in the future.
